Here at MOPS, we gather and support moms. We offer a warm and welcoming environment to moms regardless of faith, background, or church membership. We believe in the simple but revolutionary idea that remarkable things happen when moms come together!

We couldn’t be happier that you’ve found us on this crazy beautiful journey called motherhood. Every mama nurtures and parents her kiddos differently, and it’s in those differences that we learn from each other. We are better together!

MOPS offers high-quality, women’s gatherings that welcome moms together to share life, motherhood, and Jesus. Our MOPS group is designed for moms with infants, toddlers, or preschoolers. We welcome every mom, with every story, from every background.

MOMSNext

We know that your job as a mom does not stop when your children head off to school. Though new challenges and struggles arise as you enter the school years with your kids, the need for community, hope and friendship remains. That’s why we offer MOMSnext. These groups are specifically designed to meet the needs of moms with school-age children.

World Mission Offering Update

We collected $284,109 this year! $142,055 goes to the International Mission Board through Lottie Moon. $65,345 goes to Louisiana Baptist Missions through Georgia Barnette. $32,673 goes to North American missions (Annie Armstrong). Another $32,673 goes to fund short-term mission trips for Calvary members. $5,682 goes to our local Baptist association. The LCU and LSUA BCMs each receive $2,841.

The WMO is in addition to Calvary’s regular missions budget. All WMO money goes directly to the mission field or local ministries. No funds are used for administrative costs.

New Deacon’s Ordained

New Deacons Ordained
On January 14th, we ordained six new deacons into service at Calvary for 2024. The Biblical meaning of the word deacon is servant. We welcome these men as servants of Christ and our church as they care for our widows and others in need as well as assisting our pastors in ministry. We will also ordain Josh Jaques into our deacon body later this year.

Precepts: 2 Corinthians

Precepts: 2 Corinthians

Begins Wednesday evenings, January 17 & Thursday mornings, January 18
Second Corinthians is a book about ministry, various kinds of ministry. But amid ministry, sometimes Christians are burdened beyond strength, despairing of life, having fears within and conflicts without. How do we cope with those things? This book tells us how to be strong in the Lord when accusations and persecutions are directed toward us, how to have confidence in Him and not lose heart, and even how to correct those who are our accusers. This nine-week course is taught by Sheila Breazeale. Facebook Live will be available. See the registration form for details and to sign up. calvarynet.net/register
