January 23, 2022
Church family, our Personnel Committee has recommended that Todd Strain, Associate Pastor, fill the role of Pastor upon the retirement of Sr. Pastor Dr. David Brooks at the end of 2022. Along with a Succession Committee, this committee has worked with Dr. Brooks and Rev. Strain on a transition plan for the past two years. Recently, we had two congregational meetings with Todd where he gave his testimony, discussed details about his life, and answered questions about how he would lead our church if confirmed as Pastor. You can listen to this meeting here.

We are now ready to vote on the Personnel Committee’s recommendation to select Rev. Todd Strain as our next Pastor. Upon an affirmative vote, Rev. Todd Strain will immediately assume the new role of Pastor as Dr. Brooks continues his role of Sr. Pastor until the end of 2022. At that time, Rev. Todd Strain becomes the 10th Pastor of Calvary Baptist Church. In both Worship Services on Sunday, January 23, 2022, any church member thirteen and older will have the opportunity to vote via paper ballot. Voting will continue during the following week, January 24th – 28th, in our church office for anyone who cannot attend the January 23rd service. Church office hours are Monday – Thursday, 8:30am – 5:00pm, and Friday, 8:30am – 3:00pm. Voting will close that Friday, January 28, at 3:00 pm.

Calvary, we ask you for continued prayer as God leads our church forward during this transition. Plan to be in attendance on January 23 or make plans to vote that following week. Thank you for being a dedicated, driven, and Christ-focused body of believers. We look forward with anticipation to what our Lord will do through our church over the next one hundred years!
