Life Groups

Our Life Groups are our weekly, year-round groups that meet every Sunday, or another day of the week. We believe spiritual growth happens best in small groups.

Adult Growth Classes

Growth Classes are short-term, thematic classes centered around a Book of the Bible, Biblical character, life issue, or topic that helps the participant take one more step in their spiritual growth. Classes are generally offered in the Fall and Spring semesters.

Christ sees the church as His bride, and marriage should reflect that relationship between a husband and wife. Marriage is the backbone of the family, and we strive to bring support to your marriage through classes, groups, and special events throughout the year. Investing in your marriage is so important and we are here with you on the journey.

Momentum

This event is designed to empower marriages to move with the strength and force directed by God and the Holy Spirit. These events will be held throughout the year addressing relevant topics and providing couples the opportunity to walk away with the momentum their marriage needs. MOPS (Mothers of Preschoolers)

On the 1st and 3rd Wednesday of each month we invite our mothers of children ages birth to kindergarten to come together for encouragement, teaching, and connection.

Talking to Children About Salvation and Baptism

We have created a video series that is presented by our Family Ministry to help lead this conversation with your children.

Children are a priority

We strive to provide quality, positive experiences for children that are not only fun, but pointed towards God.

We offer Sunday School classes for all children at 9:00 am and 10:30 am. On Wednesdays, KidzJAM is offered from 6:00 pm – 7:00 pm for children ages 3 to 6th grade.

Our preschoolers learn basic Bible truths through games, activities, stories, music and movement. It’s a blast!
We offer a fun, exciting activity based lesson for children each and every Sunday. We use games, toys, creative play, books, music, videos, drama, art, and discussion to help preschoolers learn more about God.Our focus is to teach our preschoolers that God made me, God loves me and that Jesus wants to be their friend forever.

Classes are offered at 9:00 and 10:30. We gladly accept preschoolers 15 minutes before each session.

The Collaborative is a community of college students and young adults whose desire is to see this city’s young adults come together to glorify God with their lives. We believe this happens when we connect People to God and People to People. We meet on Sundays at 9:00 am and 10:30 am. We connect on Monday nights at 7:00 pm and dive into community groups throughout the week.

Chi Alpha is the Jr High Ministry at Calvary Baptist Church. Our desire is for students to Live Christ First in every area of life. We believe Jr High students do this best when they Connect with Christ, Grow in Community and Go Make Disciples.

Chi Alpha is the Sr High Ministry at Calvary Baptist Church. Our desire is for students to Live Christ First in every area of life. We believe Sr High students do this best when they Connect with Christ, Grow in Community and Go Make Disciples.

We have opportunities on Sundays at 9:00 am and 10:30 am for Life Group and Worship, Wednesday nights is The Forge at 6:00 pm, as well as other monthly events and connections. All are designed to help Connect, Grow and Go in your walk with Christ.

Our Music Ministry enhances our Worship Services each Sunday with beautiful songs of praise, rejoicing, and thanksgiving to our loving Heavenly Father. It also oversees our Conservatory of Music where kids and adults can learn or hone a musical skill with talented teachers from around Cenla.

There are also ways you can serve in our choir, orchestra, praise team, and special groups if you are interested.

The Women’s Ministry of Calvary Baptist Church exists for reaching, teaching, and nurturing the women of our Church and community so that each woman will come to faith, Christian maturity, and service by walking in step with God, His Word, and one another. We do this primarily through our WOW groups, Women’s Small Groups, and MOPS.

At Calvary, we help men realize that authentic manhood is found when men reject passivity, accept responsibility, lead courageously, and invest eternally. We do this primarily through the Quest, Band of Brothers, and The Men’s Retreat.

Our Senior Adult Ministry is a vibrant and caring place to be involved. With monthly lunch meetings, weekly activities, and special events, you can always find something that interests you! Combine that with great people and you have a recipe for fun spiritual growth and community. God has something in store for you and we would love to help you find a place to belong!

Our special needs ministry serves persons of all ages with a developmental or physical disability and their family members and other caregivers.

Our volunteers have a loving heart for persons with special needs and are trained by the Director of our Special Needs Ministry. We invite you to join us at Calvary and let our family share the love of Jesus with your family.

The trained facilitators of our groups are friends who have a passion to comfort others in trouble with the same comfort they themselves have received from God and others. Those who lead our groups have experienced the same life issue or need of the group they lead. Let Calvary’s C.A.R.E. Network Support Group Ministry be “A Safe Place of Hope and Healing” for you.
