VISIT

Calvary had its beginnings when a small group of believers gathered in the Rapides Theater on February 6, 1921. That same year, property was purchased at the corner of Bolton Ave and Jackson Street and several years later, a permanent church building was erected. For over 60 years, our church building stood at the corner of Jackson and Bolton until 1982 when the Lord gave the church a bold vision to relocate to its current location. In 1992, a 3-story Education Building was built and in 2001, the Student Ministry Building and Children’s World came into existence. In December 2015, the current worship center was opened.

But Calvary is more than buildings. It is a family of faith that is committed to helping others live out the mission of the church—to lead every person to become a fully devoted follower of Christ. This is accomplished through a thriving LifeGroup ministry, powerful worship gatherings, and meaningful ministry and mission opportunities. Throughout its history, Calvary has always had the heartbeat to reach central Louisiana for Christ and, Lord willing, will continue to do so.
