God
The eternal triune God reveals Himself to us as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, with distinct personal attributes, but without division of nature, essence, or being.
God the Father
God the Father
- He is the sovereign Creator, Sustainer, and Ruler of all things, visible and invisible.
- He is all-powerful, all-knowing, and all-present over all creation.
- Jesus, the eternal Son of God, was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, was crucified on a cross, was buried, and was raised from the dead in fulfillment of Old Testament prophecy.
- His death on a cross was the satisfying atoning sacrifice for the sins of all humanity.
- He is the perfect mediator between God and man and is the only way to an eternal relationship with God.
- The Holy Spirit is fully divine and is the very Spirit of God.
- He convicts people of sin, enables them to understand truth, and calls people to faith in Christ.
- Upon the moment of salvation, every follower of Christ receives the Holy Spirit and the spiritual gifts that He gives.
Humanity
- Because each person is created in God’s image, every person is loved by God and worthy of full dignity.
- In the beginning, humanity was created without sin and in perfect relationship with God.
- By free choice, humanity sinned against God, and sin entered the human race. Fellowship with God was broken, and all humanity is separated from God.
Salvation
- Salvation is the act by which God rescues sinners from the penalty of sin through the atoning sacrifice of Jesus and for the purpose of living for God.
- Salvation happens by grace and faith in Christ alone and cannot be achieved through good deeds or religious activity.
Baptism
- Baptism illustrates how we identify with Christ’s death, burial, and resurrection unto a new life. It is a picture, an outward expression of an inward life change.
- Since baptism is an illustration of the saving work of Jesus, it is for those who have had a personal salvation experience and have personally made the choice to be baptized.
- We believe that Believer’s Baptism is by immersion, an act of obedience, a symbol, and a membership requirement.
The Bible
- The Bible is the divinely inspired Word of God and is the revelation of God to humanity.
- It is completely true and trustworthy, without any mixture of error in all that it affirms.
- It is the standard by which all of human conduct and belief should be tested.
Membership
- Membership defines our church family and community. Being a member of a local church allows us to experience sustained spiritual growth as we worship, serve, and receive encouragement alongside believers for a long period of time.
